Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced the National Hockey League club has acquired Chuck Kobasew (in wild jersey) from the Boston Bruins in exchange for Craig Weller, a second round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, who was selected by wild in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Kobasew recorded one assist in seven games with the Boston Bruins this season. He has collected 42 points and 56 penalty minutes in 68 regular season contests with the Bruins in 2008-09. He has also tallied 155 points and 272 PIM in 368 career NHL contests during seven seasons with Flames and Bruins. Kobasew collected 49 points in 43 games with Boston College in 2000-01 and was named the MVP of the 2001 NCAA championship.
